Frequent questions
Yes, this means that you will be able to find your Body Partner weight and body composition data in the same place as your activity, nutrition, etc. data in the Apple and Google apps.
To do this, go to your profile and then "share your data" and choose your compatible app.
N.B.: the Apple Health app is only compatible with the iPhone.
This means that sharing has been enabled for another profile in the same account and the same smartphone.
If want to share your data, you will have to do so on another smartphone.
You will find a list of compatible devices here.
Synchronising your devices with your mobile phone will allow you to check all of your measurements in the app.

Synchronising is easy: use your telephone with the Bluetooth® switched on and the Body Partner app open. Switch on your product and make sure that it is connected to your app (fixed Bluetooth® logo). Your data will be transferred directly from your products to your app.

Do you not have your telephone nearby? No need to worry, you can register 10 measuring sessions per user on your scales and tape measure. The next time you connect, you can retrieve the data saved in your products. A built-in clock allows you to link the date and time of your measurements.
1. Ensure your scales/body shape tracker appears in your telephone's Bluetooth devices.
If this is not the case, you must pair your devices. Go to "Settings" on the Body Partner app and select "Add a body shape tracker"/"Add scales".
2. Update your data:drag the tab downwards to restart product/app communication.

Please note: if you make several successive measurements in less than 2 mins, we will deem that this is because you made a mistake with the first ones and, therefore, only the last one will be sent to you.
No, your data will be stored on a secure cloud server. Consequently you will be able to find it on any telephone when you login with the same user account (e-mail/password).
Pairing involves connecting the scales and the body shape tracker to your mobile phone.
This action will only be carried out the first time you use the device.
Flashing Bluetooth® logo: this means that the scales or body shape tracker is trying to connect to your smartphone.
Fixed Bluetooth® logo: connected to your smartphone.
By default, your data is private. All your measurements are connected to your account and are displayed on your personal control panel which password-protected.
In order to ensure the privacy of data between users, each account must be created with its own e-mail address and password.
If you have several profiles on the same account (e-mail/password), all the profiles shall have access to the account's data.
You have to go to history:
iOS version: press on the data that you wish to delete and slide your finger to the left. A recycle bin will appear. Touch it to delete your data.
Android version: press down on the measurement for a few seconds and the recycle bin will appear. Click on it to delete your data.

Comments:
When a weight reading, body fat mass or hydration level is deleted from the history, all of the corresponding weight readings are deleted.
N.B.: deletions shall be definitive and permanent.
On your app, you will only see the profiles linked to your own account.
It is important to always weigh yourself at the same time of day. The best frequency is once per week.
When you step on the scales, barefoot, an electric current of very low intensity is transmitted through the body via the electrodes. This current, which travels from one foot to the other, encounter difficulties when it has to pass through fat. This resistance of the body, called bioelectrical impedance, varies according to gender, age and height of the user, and makes it possible to determine body fat.
This device is perfectly safe because it operates with a very low current (4 x 1.5 V batteries).
To be fully satisfied with this appliance, measuring and weighing must always be conducted under the same conditions:
• Always weigh yourself in bare feet. Your feet must be dry and properly positioned on the electrodes. Beware that if your feet have too much hard skin the measurement may be affected.
• preferably once a week first thing in the morning,
• 1/4 of an hour after waking up, so that the water in your body is distributed in the lower limbs.
It is also important to ensure that there is no contact between the legs (thighs, knees, calves) or between the feet. If necessary, slip a sheet of paper between your legs.
It depends on which type of scale you use:
- Diagnostic scale: the measure will be distorted.
- Other bathroom scale: no impact on the measurement.
Do not use the body shape tracker with wet skin (water or body cream), it may result in a false measurement and damage it.
Scroll through the profiles on the scales using the " >" key, then confirm your profile with the "v" key.
• The scales should be used on a flat, hard surface (not on rugs or carpets).
• In the case of vertical storage or objects left on top of the scales, the first measurement will be incorrect.
• Always weigh yourself in the same manner (same time of day, clothes, etc.). During the day, weight variations may exceed 1 kg.
For better tracking, always weigh yourself in the same manner. Preferably in the morning, without clothing, before eating and at least 15 minutes after waking up.
Check that there is nothing under the product that is affecting the measurement and that the sides of the scales are not in contact with any other object.
The scales should be used on a flat, hard surface (not on rugs or carpets).
In the case of vertical storage or objects left on top of the scales, the first measurement will be incorrect.
Furthermore, during the day, weight variations may exceed 1 kg.
1. On the app, delete the profile or the account.
- Reason no. 1: there are several profiles under the same account. Go to "profile" then to "cancel my profile".
Please note: you cannot delete the main profile (the first one linked to the account) if you have not deleted the following profiles.

- Reason no. 2: there is not just one profile under the account. Go to "settings" then to "cancel my account".

2. Concerning the products, please synchronise the devices again:
- Remove the batteries, wait for 5 seconds, then replace the batteries.
- Start synchronising again to display the remaining profiles.
Note: if you remove the batteries, you will delete all the data stored in the memory of the devices. In order not to lose the data, remember to synchronise before removing the batteries.
You have to select the desired unit in the app. To do this, go to the "Profile" section.
The next time you synchronise your products with your mobile, the modification will be applied automatically.
The only way to delete Compatibility is to delete the Body Partner app, accept to delete your data in Health or Google Fit and then download Body partner again.
Of course, you can connect again with the same account as usual.
The appliance can be wiped with a sponge and washing-up liquid. Don't use a metallic scourer or scouring powder. Never immerse in water.
Store your bathroom scale lying down without anything on it. If you do not intend to use it for a long time, remove the batteries.
We recommend always using new alkaline batteries (LR03 batteries), and never using saline batteries (R03 batteries) or rechargeable batteries (HR03 batteries).
When changing the batteries, always replace all batteries with new alkaline batteries.
This does not apply to scales using CR2032 button batteries or lithium batteries.
The screen, the plastic shell and the tape: you can clean them with a soft and slightly damp cloth.
Warning - do not soak the tape in water.
This means that your scales did not recognise you. There are two reasons for this.

Reason no.1: my scales did not recognise me but my profile is in the scales
If your scales does not recognise you, select the right profile using the navigation arrow, then confirm. Next time, the scales should recognise you immediately.

Reason no.2: my scales have not recognised me because my profile is not in the scales.
If your profile is not in the scales, this means that your telephone is not synchronised with your scales. Update your data: via the app, drag the tab downwards to restart product/app communication.
When the "Battery" logo appears, this means that you have to change your batteries as soon as possible.
If you have data stored in the memory, do not forget to synchronise your devices and your mobile phone to avoid losing any data.

After a certain time, if you do not change your batteries, you will see the message "BAT" and the scales will switch off. You will have to change the batteries to continue using the scales.
This means that the maximum weight of 180 kg has been exceeded. The scales are limited to 180 kg.
Body fat mass can only be calculated reliably from 7 years onwards.
The weight is transferred to the app but the body fat mass and hydration are not calculated.
Reason no. 1: You have never synchronised your mobile phone and your scales. To calculate your body fat mass, the scales need to know your profile.
If you have not synchronised your scales with your telephone at least once, this cannot be calculated. In this case, please connect your scales to your app (Connecting section).
Reason no. 2: You weighed yourself with socks or shoes on. In this case, bioelectrical-impedance technology does not work. Try again with bare feet.
Reason no. 3: Your feet are positioned incorrectly on the electrodes. Stand up straight, centred on the scales, with your feet slightly apart.
The scales need to know your profile in order to calculate your body fat mass. Without this indicator, it cannot display your body fat mass.
To know your body fat mass, select your profile in the scales with the ">" key then confirm with the "V" key.
When you see the battery logo displayed on your product's screen, this means that you have to change your batteries as soon as possible (new LR03 alkaline batteries).
If you have data in the memory, remember to synchronise your devices and your mobile as soon as possible before changing the batteries. If not, the data still in the memory will be lost.
1. Check on your phone that Bluetooth® is activated.
2. Check that your telephone is connected to the Internet.
3. During the pairing process, check that you entered the correct PIN code indicated on your battery cover.
4. To restart the pairing process, go to "Settings" on your devices and select "Add a body shape tracker"/"Add scales"

NB:
- Check that your iOS smartphone is version 8.0 minimum and that your Android smartphone is version 4.4 minimum.

1. Ensure your scales/body tracker appears in your telephone's Bluetooth devices.
If this is not the case, you must pair your devices. Go to "Settings" on the Body Partner app and select "Add a body shape tracker"/"Add scales".
2. If this is the case, update your data on your "control panel".
Firstly, start by closing your app then open it again in order to restart it.
If this still does not work, you must "reset" your telephone and products and then repeat the pairing process:
1. Cancel your appliances in the list of the Bluetooth® devices connected to your telephone.
2. To reset your products:
• Scales:
- Remove and replace the device's batteries.
- The scales LCD screen switches on, wait for the Bluetooth® logo to start flashing.
- Press the "V" key for about 30 secs until it beeps twice.
• Tape measure:
- Remove and replace the device's batteries.
- The body shape tracker's LCD screen switches on, wait until the screen switches off then switch it on again.
- Press the "V" key for about 30 secs until "CLR" is displayed on the screen.
With Android smartphones, it is not possible to connect two products simultaneously. You have to disconnect the first one in order to be able to connect the second one. You can select the product with which you want to connect via the bar at the bottom of your screen.
There are several reasons why you cannot calculate and, therefore, display, your body fat mass:

Reason no. 1: You have never paired your mobile phone and your scales.
To calculate your body fat mass, the Body Partner scales need to know your profile. If you have not synchronised your scales with your telephone at least once, this cannot be calculated. In this case, please connect your scales to your app (Connecting section).

Reason no. 2: you are on the profile "NO".
To calculate your body fat mass, the scales need to know your profile. Without this indicator, it cannot display your body fat mass.
To know your body fat mass, select your profile in the scales with the ">" key then confirm with the "V" key.

Reason no. 3: you weighed yourself with socks or shoes on.
In this case, bioelectrical-impedance technology does not work. Try again with bare feet.
For children under 18 years old, the BMI is not calculated in the same way as for adults; we do not display this information.
If the "ERR" message is displayed on the screen of the scales and a long beep is emitted after the weight reading, the data will be deemed to be false and will not be stored or sent to the app. Please weigh yourself again.
A reading error has been detected.
It is necessary to rewind the tape completely and press the ON/OFF key in order to reset it.
By default, your username consists of the first four letters of your first name. Therefore, please pay attention that you do not have the same username as another member of your family. You may change it at any time in "My Profile".
We have chosen to block the target setting for minors (under 18 years).
Yes, a diagnostic scale measures the lean body mass and by deducting it from the total body mass, gives the overall body fat regardless of where it is located.
Yes, the garment weight is added to the fat mass.
During the bathroom scale manufacturing calibration some variations could appeared from one scale to another. Some differences coming from these variations could appear if you compare your weight on two different bathroom scales.
We recommend that you consult your doctor to determine precisely whether the smart scales can be used safely during your pregnancy. If you use it, the body fat mass calculation will be incorrect. Therefore, we recommend that you do not take account of your results during pregnancy.
You should not use the smart scales if you are have a pacemaker or any other medical device. The smart scales emit a small electrical signal through your body in order to measure your body fat mass, which may harm or interfere with a pacemaker (or other medical device).
Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. Leave it at a local civic waste collection point.

Your scales and your tape measure have a battery life of approximately 12 months with standard LR03 batteries.
For the scales, that correspond to two weight readings per week and per person for a family of four people.
For the body shape tracker: 1 series of 6 measurements per week per person, for a family of four people.

When the "Battery" logo appears, this means that you have to change your batteries as soon as possible.
If you have data stored in the memory, do not forget to synchronise your devices and your mobile phone so that you don't lose any data.

After a certain time, if you do not change your batteries, you will see the message "BAT" and the scales will switch off. You will have to change the batteries to continue using the scales.

Please recycle your batteries in the appropriate container.
• For the body shape tracker: there is no automatic user recognition. Users must select their profile on the sensor before measuring themselves.
If you cannot find your profile on the products, this means that it is not connected (see section on Configuring/installing).

N.B.: "NO" mode: this mode is the default mode when a profile is not recognised and, consequently, the measurements are not saved.

• For the scales: if you have synchronised your scales with your telephone, it will recognise you automatically.
If this is not the case, scroll through the profiles on the scales using the " >" key, then confirm your profile with the "V" key.

Your scales and your body shape tracker will recognise your telephone but you will have to synchronise your mobile phone again with your devices. To do this:
1. Switch on your product.
2. Use the "tab" on your control panel to refresh your data.
3. You will find your profiles on your device.
The scales can manage up to 8 users and store up to 10 weight readings per user in the memory.
The body shape tracker can also manage up to 8 users and store up to 10 measurement sessions per zone and per user.
Beyond that, the measurements will not be saved. You will have to synchronise your devices with your smartphone to retrieve your data in the app and empty your products' memory.
In the same way as for body fat mass, bioelectrical-impedance technology allows us to calculate your hydration level.
A low sinusoidal current is sent through your body. This current easily passes through tissue that is rich in water (lean mass: muscle, skin, etc.), however, it encounters greater resistance with tissue that has little water (body fat mass).
Our unique body shape tracker is equipped with an optical sensor that measures 2 mm by 2 mm.
Reason no. 1: the memory card is fixed: this means that data concerning the selected profile is stored in the memory on the device.
Reason no. 2: the memory card is flashing: this means that the memory attached to your profile is full. In this case, the measurements will no longer be saved. You will have to synchronise your devices with your smartphone to retrieve your data in the app and delete the memory of your products.
