PTFE : an inert material

What exactly is it?

PTFE (polytetrafluorethylene) is a polymer that we, at Tefal, were the first to use for the coatings of our non-stick pans. We guarantee the safety of all our PTFE based products and coatings.

PTFE : an inert material

PTFE is an inert material that is non-toxic, even when ingested.

PTFE is also used in medicine and surgery: in pacemakers, the coatings of artificial limbs, and artery transplants.

PTFE does not react in any way with water, food, or domestic cleaning products.

PTFE is certified to be harmless by public health bodies in Europe and the US.
